Description
1930's Consumers Brewing Company of Newark, Ohio, Tin Lithographed plate. Advertises their "Olde Towne" Beer. The sign measures a little over 9 1/2" in diameter and is shaped like a dinner plate. It features an image of an old time "lamp lighter" who looks a lot like Abraham Lincoln using a match to light an oil fired street lamp. Text at the top of the raised rim reads "Old Towne" and text at the bottom reads "Fine Beer and Quality Ale / The Consumers Brewing Co., Newark, Ohio". The plate has two factory holes at the top for hanging.Looking head on, the plate looks good. Took pictures at lighted angles to show the scratching across the front of the plate. Some chipping along rim 's sides and back. Paint loss and scratching across back of plate. For it's age though, still in decent shape.
