    Description

    We are pleased to offer a spectacular Art Deco powder compact that was made in Germany.  This compact was found in its original gift box that is stamped Germany on the bottom.  The compact itself is made of blue and white plastic, lucite or bakelite - we did not test it.  The blue and white strips form a Tambour type closure which slides back to reveal a mirror and powder compartment.  It is stamped Made in Germany on the gold colored plate inside the compact.
    The mark definitely indicates that it was made prior to World War II.  This piece represents an earlier time of the Art Deco era and it is as elegant as you can imagine.  It is in fabulous condition with only minor surface wear as seen in the photos.  It opens and closes with no problems or snags.
