Vintage Redware Scottie Dog w/Black Vase Atop A Book-MADE IN JAPAN-3"

Description

This is an adorable little grouping of a Scottie dog snuggled up next to a black vase atop a tiny book.  He/she is peeking around the vase.  Such a cutie!
Made of red clay in Japan around 1930.  After the piece was glazed with the black glaze and the multi-color tones of the pup, gold and red paint were cold painted on top of the glaze.  As often occurs, some of that cold paint is missing through age.
Very good pre-owned condition.
MEASUREMENTS:  H  3"  X  W  2 5/8"  X  D  1 5/8"
