Vintage Wood Wooden Folk Art Dog Bookends Handmade Rustic Home Decor Scottie ?

Vintage pair of wood, wooden Scottie? dog bookends. These are handmade, stained and have some painted details.
Each measures approx. 5 3/4" long x 2 3/4" wide and 5" tall.
I don't know who made them. I found them at an estate sale.
I'm not sure what type of wood but possibly made out of pine.
♦♦ CONDITION ♦♦
1. In nice vintage condition.
2. Some wear to the finish. Light and dark places.   Painted details in good condition.
3. A little wear to the edges/corners of the wood.
4. The front half has a small crack in the wood base along where the side and bottom are nailed together.
This is visible in the 2nd picture.
